When should I decide which workshops I want to take?

James Hill’s workshops sell out quickly so purchase your ticket early to avoid disappointment.

Workshop and concert tickets are sold separately.

Which ukulele tuning will be covered in the workshops?

All workshops and the sing and strum will be in C6 Tuning. Note: Baritone chords will not be covered.

What do I need to bring to a workshop?

A ukulele, a music stand,pen, paper or a notebook.

Can I attend just one workshop?

Yes, you can attend the workshop that you choose. Registration is available on-line before the festival. Book soon as spaces are limited.

I am a complete beginner will it be too hard for me?

There is a workshop specifically for the beginner ukulele player. We will even provide you with a uke if you don’t have one. You will take away a ukulele experience and a desire to learn more and play your heart out.

Can I come to just one one day of the Festival?

Yes, of course you can.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes, certainly. Concert tickets are available to buy on-line or at Arbutus Music  and Fascinating Rhythm in Nanaimo or Mulberry Bush Bookstore in Parksville. You and your friend can also come to the Jammin’ Jamboree on Sunday afternoon (admission by donation) at the Neighbourhood Church in Nanaimo. Even if you don’t play a ukulele, come and share in the music of the Revolving Doors and sing your heart out at the sing and strum.

Is there parking available at the festival site or nearby?

Parking is available right at the festival site. There is also 2 hour parking next door at the Nanaimo North Town Mall.

What is the cost of the workshops and concert?

Beginner workshops taught by Rob Wilkinson are $20 each or register for both workshops for $35. Maximum participants is 25.

Intermediate workshops are taught by James Hill. Each workshop is $35 or both for $65. Maximum participants is 30.

Can I have a refund if I can’t make it after all?

You can have a full refund 7 days before the festival begins (July 8th), after that registration is non-refundable.

What can I buy at the festival to remember my experience.

Arbutus Music and Steve Doreen will have tables set up at the festival. There will be ukuleles, straps, music books, stands and great people to talk with at the merchandise tables.

Are credit cards accepted?

Yes, credit cards will be accepted at the festival for concert tickets and merchandise.
