When should I decide which workshops I want to take?
Workshops sell out quickly so purchase your ticket early to avoid disappointment.
How are the tickets sold?
Workshop and concert tickets are sold separately. You can purchase them online or from Arbutus Music directly from the store in Nanaimo.

I want to make a vacation out of coming to the Festival, what else is there to do in Nanaimo?
Which ukulele tuning will be covered in the workshops?
All workshops and the sing and strum will be in C6 Tuning.
Note: Baritone chords will not be covered.
What do I need to bring to a workshop?
Your enthusiasm, a ukulele, a music stand, pen and paper.
Can I attend just one workshop?
Yes, you can attend the workshop that you choose. Registration is available online before the festival. Book soon as spaces are limited.
I am a complete beginner will it be too hard for me?
There is a workshop specifically for the beginner ukulele player. We will even provide you with a uke if you don’t have one. You will take away a ukulele experience and a desire to learn more and play your heart out. Contact us if you need to borrow a ukulele.
Can I come to just one one day of the Festival?
Yes, of course you can.
Can I bring a friend?
Yes, certainly. Concert tickets are available to buy online or at Arbutus Music in Nanaimo. Arbutus Music will have tickets on sale on March 27th if you wish to buy your tickets in person. You and your friends can also come to the Jammin’ Jamboree on Sunday afternoon at the Neighbourhood Church in Nanaimo. It’s a family friendly free event but donations are gratefully accepted. Even if you don’t play a ukulele, come and share in the music of the Revolving Doors and sing your heart out at the sing and strum.
Is there parking available at the festival site or nearby?
Parking is available right at the festival site. There is also 2 hour parking next door at the Nanaimo North Town Mall.
What is the cost of the workshops and concert?
Beginner workshops taught by Liz DeBarros are $20 each or register for both workshops for $35. Maximum participants is 25.
Intermediate workshops are taught by The Naked Waiters. Each workshop is $25. Maximum participants is 25.
The Ookestra , a Comfortable Beginner/Intermediate workshop taught by Cynthia Kinnunen is $60 for all day, (morning and afternoon sessions).
Can I have a refund if I can’t make it after all?
You can have a full refund 7 days before the festival begins (July 7th), after that registration for workshops is non-refundable. If you can’t make it pass along your tickets to a friend.
What can I buy at the festival to remember my experience.
Arbutus Music will have a table set up at the festival. There will be ukuleles, straps, music books, stands and great people to talk with at the merchandise tables.
