Just a little Nanaimo Ukulele Festival update:
Arbutus Music has generously donated a ukulele, a bag, a tuner and four lessons at Arbutus Music to be drawn at the Nanaimo Ukulele Festival. To enter the draw all you have to do is donate a loonie and guess the number of jelly beans in the jar. The winner will be announced at the Ukulele Jammin’ Jamboree on Sunday afternoon.
We are starting to get spots in the open mic filling up. If you are interested in playing a tune on Sunday afternoon please send us a message.
There are still a few workshop spots available. If you are a beginner ukulele player, Rob Wilkinson will help you get more familiar with your uke and what you can accomplish as a new player. The two intermediate workshops, taught by James Hill, are almost filled up. The Lyricism and Line workshop still has four spots. The Swing Ukulele Swing lesson is filled.
Only 51/2 weeks to go until we start rocking our ukes at the 2017 Nanaimo Ukulele Festival on July 15th and 16th. Put those dates in your calendar and plan to come share the joy of playing your uke with other ukulele buffs. It’s going to be a fun time for all ages and abilities.
See you there.
